Baby Hank in pictures

We had an ultrasound this morning, and all is going great! He's measuring just about on time (a tad early) at 33 weeks and 2 days. The doctor said his head is measuring even bigger at 35 weeks... a typical Robb! Big brains and all :)

He wasn't super cooperative, but we did get a couple of shots, and here they are... The first is straight-ahead and it's just his nose and mouth. He was being shy. The second is a rather fuzzy profile shot. Not great, but we'll take what we can get!

Here we go...

So the powers that be are predicting about a foot of snow in the Chicagoland area by 12 noon tomorrow. When were we supposed to head out of town? 12 noon tomorrow. I'll keep you posted and perhaps have some interesting pictures up in the a.m.

Had a regular dr checkup today (now having to go in every two weeks!), and all is well. Good heartbeat, measuring well and all that good stuff. Next appointment is the last ultrasound, so if he cooperates, I'll be able to post a picture :)

a quick december post...

December in Chicago... so far...

Here's Craig with my bday decorations (sent by the Harrisons - thank you!):

And here is one from TONIGHT! On my way home from work... It's been snowing since about lunch, and when I got home there were probably 3-4 inches on the ground. That was about 3 hours ago, and it's still snowing!

Still cold out...

It's been cold, and we've had some snow, but this weekend looks like it's going to be quite balmy... mid 30s today and mid 40s tomorrow... back to snow Monday!

Pictures from last weekend:

Ah, winter...

I've been meaning to post this picture I took on Monday. Yep... December 1st. Looks like it'll be a long one this year! Craig left this morning and it was 16 (windchill 3). I think it might be a few degrees warmer now that I'm out the door :)

I promised...

Here's a picture of me that Craig took tonight in Hank's room... I'm big already, with more than 90 days to go.

Yikes...

Yikes, it's been a long time...

I vow to get better at posting!

It's been a busy month, I must say, but no excuses! I will have to post pictures later, but really, I can't put off posting any longer :)

Went to Memphis several weeks ago to represent Bird Dog Bay at Merry Marketplace. The show was a success, and I definitely think we'll be doing the show again next year. My wonderful family all chipped in and helped (especially after they passed along the wonderful stomach flu that had made its rounds in the Robb clan... I guess they felt guilty).

While in Memphis, I was able to go to Marion and John's wedding, which was absolutely beautiful. I wish I'd been able to stay longer and catch up with more people, but recovery from the aforementioned bug was pressing. That said, I was able to see some people that I hadn't seen in a while, and Anne was nice enough to shuttle me around. Must say, that next to Anne in her va-va-voom dress (a-may-zing), I felt like I looked about 11 months pregnant!

Got to hang out with Trey a bunch, and he is looking so big! I can hardly stand it, running around and chatting everyone up like he's a big kid. It's hard to believe he was just a little bitty squirm-worm just a year ago.

So back to Chicago, Craig and I hosted the Kathleen, Caroline and Ian for an early Thanksgiving. So much fun! I'll definitely post pictures. Sadly, Bill couldn't make the trip, but I'm sure he'll be back some time next year to meet the new Turner addition :) While everyone was in town, we got to show off the new city and hang out a lot. We even cooked, and it wasn't half bad (despite the lack of gravy... I am going to watch Dupree make it at Christmas this year!!). Our guests were also so incredibly generous, and got Hank his stroller! Craig and I keep rolling it from his room to the living, just for fun. It's so easy to push. Really, next time anyone is visiting, I invite you to take it for a spin.

Last weekend, I did another show for Bird Dog Bay, this time in Lake Forest, IL (otherwise known as the suburb Craig and I plan to move to). SIMPLY STUNNING. About an hour on the train to downtown, it's the perfect little town, with a nice square and adorable old inn. Granted, the homes are a bit (haha) on the pricey side, we have definite plans for a move there sometime in the next, say, 20 years...

As for this weekend, we are taking it easy, and I couldn't be more excited :)

Ok. I have to go now, but will try and post pictures soon!

Yay Fall!

Just wanted to post a couple pictures that I took on a walk in our neighborhood the other day - it's beautiful here... The reasons why Fall is my favorite season: the trees, weather and fun clothes you get to wear!

the apt and the cma

So I've promised to put up pictures of the apartment and have be negligent in doing so because we are still working on it. I've come to realize that if I wait til it's done, you won't see pictures of it til we move to our next place... So... pictures follow. Just note that we're still in the market for several pieces of furniture and rugs (and we haven't put up our paintings yet, so walls are rather empty!)...

Our bedroom (rather blurry shot...)

Guest bedroom - come and visit!

The office/sunroom - just got our desk today!

Living room from the office...

Also, last weekend we went to Culver (CMA) to visit Robb and go to the Fall Ball. Hilary, Bruce, Julia and Mae were also there - so fun! The only picture of me is TERRIBLE, so I am not including it :)

Drumroll...

It's a boy!

We found out yesterday that we're having a baby boy! He was not a shy one at all and basically sat on the camera for us, though I will spare him showing everyone that picture :)

If he's perfectly on time, Henry Connell Turner (Hank) is set to arrive in this world February 23, 2009, and we can't wait to meet him!

Here's the first photo-op where he's not known as "Baby T" or "Hankelaide":

Big fish and the people who eat them...

Just got back from a wonderful week in Destin! Not much to report as all we really did was sit by the pool, read, and eat (a lot) of fish... Thought I'd share some pictures anyway!

Here's a glimpse of baby belly... sure to get bigger. I'm almost 18 weeks in this picture.

Craig... master of the grill. Even in the pitch darkness!

We played putt putt... here's my yellow ball.

Craig and I wanted an "off" seafood night, so we went to a local Thai place where I ordered chicken and Craig ordered... the biggest fish I've ever seen! It was probably 3-4 pounds when it was swimming around in the kitchen, but once fried up and put deliciously in a fabulous spicy sauce, it wasn't long before the only thing you could weigh were bones. I did help him out on this one :)

Happy campers... after a meal at Cafe 30-A!

Yay Caroline!

Caroline was the first to stay in our brand new guest bed - I hope it was as comfy as she says it was :)

Last night, she and Craig met downtown and drove up to our place. We then gave her a tour of the place and dashed off to Cafe Selmarie.

It was delicious. I highly recommend the wild mushroom risotto and any of the fabulous pastries! (We had a white chocolate raspberry mousse cake and a fruit tarte - yum!)

very strange. good strange.

I felt the baby move this morning! Not a kick or anything of the sort. More like a little mini-wave sensation. Can't wait til it really starts going, and Craig can't wait til he can feel it too :)

one long month...

So it has now been just over a month since I've written. Terrible... In my defense (if I may), we were without our home computer hookup for a long while due to the move :)

So, lots has happened over the course of the month of August. We were finally able to announce that we're expecting our own little Baby T, and we couldn't be more excited about that! In addition to that news, Craig painted our new apartment, we packed up and then moved up to Ravenswood. VERY excited about that!

Here are some pictures from August!

Just a couple of weeks before we moved from our Lincoln Park West apartment, a big summer storm moved through, and left behind the largest, most complete and brilliant rainbow either of us have ever seen - I couldn't capture it all in one shot, so here are two - the first is looking south to downtown and the 2nd is looking north:

Just before we moved from Lincoln Park, Craig worked feverishly to paint the new apartment (mostly while I was in Charlotte for business)...

Me at 14 weeks (about 2 weeks ago):

When momma and daddy and Hilary were in town, they took me to the doctor for my eyes (thank you!) and helped us move (thank you!) and got us started on decorating the nursery (thank you!). Here's Craig after we put together the new crib for Baby T...

There was an ugly bar in the kitchen that is no longer - thanks Craig :)

For Craig's birthday, we went to a delicious neighborhood restaurant, and he wore his bday present, his first ever Hawaiian shirt :)

And the most recent news (as of this past Monday), is that we bought a new car! VERY excited about this development. While it's easy, easy to take the train from here, it is extremely convenient to have the option to drive... Our green CRV:

And finally, Craig's new pride and joy (that I just benefited from by way of some fantastic Polish sausage):

work.

Hi there!
Just got back from a business trip in Charlotte, and it was H-O-T! Glad to be back in Chicago where it's only in the mid 80s :) I've included a picture of part of my set-up at the show... these products include our hunting and fishing ties, our new hunting collar stays as well as our new "Fly Links" - hand-tied fly fishing cufflinks!

That's all for now...

too long

We are still in Chicago and have not fallen off the face of the earth, in case you're wondering... Things have been quite busy here in the windy city. I clearly need to work on my blog posting skills!

Big news is that we've just closed on an apartment! We closed last week and will be moving soon - probably August 22nd, though the date isn't finalized yet. Can't wait to post pictures!

I am just about to leave for another business trip, this time to Charlotte... I will try and be better about posting after this busy season is past us!

Harrison Ladies visit...

A couple of weeks ago, Hilary and Bruce were in town celebrating their 20th (!) anniversary, and while they were staying at a posh place downtown, their girlies stayed with us!

I took the girls down to the beach and then we walked back through Lincoln Park... After Craig got off work, we went to RJ Grunts - of course we ended that meal with their ridiculously good cookie/ice cream dessert!
