Memphis fun

The boys and I were in Memphis last month for 10 days or so... We had a great time, but only have a handful of pictures to show for the trip. Cute pictures of cute boys having fun, though! Bill can't wait to join in!

halloween

A little late on this post, but better late than never! We had a really fun Halloween hanging out in our neighborhood. We had our park friends over for a little costume party and ate chili, pumpkin cupcakes, and mini jackolanterns (i.e. clementine oranges). Always a good time!

Here are the best pictures I have of the boys "in" their costumes... Yep, "in" not in. Hank refused to wear the Thomas the Train costume that we made. He loves it (and in this picture is showing off the wheels that he painted all by himself) but stubbornly refused to put it on.

So my little toddler man ran around our neighborhood collecting candy in no costume at all - already acting like a teenager. Fun times! Maybe he'll wear it next year?

Bill fully cooperated in his role as the train engineer :)

best baby age?

I don't know if I have a "favorite" baby age... So far, I've loved each stage that both boys have gone through - all have their sweet moments, fun moments, and of course challenges. I do think, however, that I have found a favorite baby age when it comes to taking pictures. Bill is in it right now. Of course I think he always has been/will be cute. Now though, he has the perfect combo of being super expressive and SITTING STILL!!!! I think I have basically the same pictures of Hank at this age - strapped in his high chair looking adorable. I have a better camera to capture the moment now, though :)

Bill is just about to crawl right out of this stitting "still" period, so I need to relish it while it lasts. Indulge me - take a look at this sweet boy!

school fun

A couple days a week, Hank goes to a very sweet pre-preschool at a little church here in Chicago. A few weeks ago, a dad of a child in the 4 year old class came to speak to the kids. He brought his work truck too :) He's a fireman and the kids thought he and his big red engine were pretty cool - Hank's favorite part was the fire hat he got to bring home!

28 years old

I know, you're thinking I must have just had my 28th birthday, right? Not so much... BUT our new train turns 28 this year!

Sweet, sweet Grandma T - aka Kathleen Turner - sent us the train that she bought Craig for Christmas in 1983 when they moved from Garden City to Huntington Bay, NY. She thought that a certain kid in our house might enjoy watching a little electric engine go 'round and 'round... She was right!

and Bill likes it too :)

getting big!

These two videos are from about a month ago... Little Bill is getting big!

our favorite beach

A few weeks ago, the little boys and I decided to drive downtown and pick up Craig from work. On the way home, we decided to take a little detour to our favorite beach. It was really fun, and we've been going every chance we get before winter arrives.

Here are a few fun phone shots from that relaxing Friday evening.

Hank's favorite game now is chase... especially at the beach... especially with daddy!

Here's a "real" picture of what the beach looks like... without the retro fuzzy photo screens. Pretty gorgeous, huh?

grandma t and fall arrive!

Grandma T visited a few weeks ago, and we had so much fun! We went to the Museum of Science and Industry - our first time in a loooong time. Of course, Hank loved every bit of it... and Bill was a trooper as always!

Over the weekend, we visited a pumpkin farm, complete with petting zoo and pig races! We all had so much fun at this awesomely fun farm. And I know Grandma T loved seeing a bit more of the Midwest :)

Grandma T's most recent addition to Hank's library was Dinosaurs Dig! A big hit, once again.

Thank you Grandma T!

dupree, do you have any more pictures?!

We went to Memphis for Labor Day... kind of a last minute trip. We had so much fun that I barely took out my camera!
