Chitown Chinatown

Hello!
Caroline was in town for work last night, which was wonderful. I hope she always has to travel to Chicago :) By the way, big news from the Shapira family is that Ian was just awarded a Pulitzer Prize for his reporting. VERY exciting. So I didn't make Caroline and Craig pose for a picture this time, but I do have some pictures from this weekend...

Saturday, we set out to explore a little bit of the city south of the Loop. We had our sites set on Chinatown, and hopped on the Red line that should have taken us directly there. Due to some construction (and probably just confusion on our part, it turns out), we got off a stop or two early and wandered over to what's known as Museum Campus. Best decision we made all day! This area is where the Field Museum, the aquarium and planetarium are... We didn't go in any of them, but the weather was beautiful, so we were able to take advantage of it by walking along the lake. So nice.

After that, we went the safe route and took a cab down to Chinatown where we wandered around and had some VERY good Chinese food. Other than the food though, there wasn't a lot going on. We did try something that I've been wanting to try for a long time - bubble tea. I have to say, I was more than disappointed. Has anyone else tasted it? Did you like it? Both Craig and I were totally disgusted by the tapioca bubbles, and we tossed the thing rather immediately.

At any rate, it was a wonderful Saturday.

On Sunday, we went to Andersonville, a neighborhood directly north of us. Really fun, had a great brunch. Very chill feel about it. We'll be back for sure!

So that's all I have to tell!
