Can you believe it? Hank is one! Well, he turned one on February 27th, but as you know, the computer has been m.i.a. due to the water incident. But we're back in action here at the blog! Yay!
We had such a fun birthday party for Hank - lots of his friends came and it was SO FUN. So much fun that I failed to take many pictures. Boo, mommy!
Craig and the birthday boy who won't sit still.
Hank was very busy that day. And could NOT get enough of his daddy!
I failed to get a picture of the decorations before the party started, but here's the aftermath... I did a lot of the decorations myself, which I am very excited about. Wish that I had gotten better pictures! Oh well, next year :)

The balls that decorated the table were a hit with the kiddies and a cinch to make. I got the tutorial from the Martha Stewart website - SO simple, and I had everything to make them with at home! Just popped them onto the top of a couple of cake stands and a bud vase, and voila!

The bar...

...and the banners that I made Hank. I had seen several versions of these on a few blogs for kids birthday parties. When I was at Joann's, I picked up some felt. Just cut the letters free-hand, and used my sewing machine to attach the triangles with ribbon. I think I might have to make some for me and Craig too!
Here's the bday throne :) Bought this kiddie chair at a thrift store and made it over with gold paint and some photo labels. The front says "precious."
And the back, "blessing."

Another favorite project that I tackled for his birthday... Here is the birthday boy modelling his birthday crown (that he wore for approximately 45 seconds at his party!).
I love that most of the decorations that I made are things that I'll be able to use for a few years (banner, crown) or every day (kiddie chair, and believe it or not, the centerpieces - now hanging from the playroom ceiling!). Worth the time and effort for sure.
